Worrying about cost should not stop you from getting help.
Many people don't know that a large part of legal help is actually free or heavily subsidised. Here are your options, simply explained.
Legal expenses cover in your home insurance
Most Swedish home insurance policies include legal expenses cover (rättsskydd) that pays up to 80% of your legal costs in a dispute. It usually applies to civil disputes and certain administrative cases. I help you apply.
State legal aid
If legal expenses cover is not available to you, you can apply for state legal aid (rättshjälp). Your income determines how large a share you pay yourself. I help you assess whether you qualify.
LVU public counsel: completely free
In cases under LVU (the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act) the state pays for your counsel. Both you as a guardian and the child are entitled to a public counsel at no cost.
Fixed price or hourly rate
The standard hourly rate is SEK 1,800. For many types of cases I offer a fixed price so you know what the help will cost. Payment via Swish, card or invoice, and we always discuss funding before we start.
